Mission Statement

The mission of Fred D. Wish Elementary School is to LEAD our students to LEARN, EXPLORE, ACHIEVE, and DISCOVER their dreams and goals. They will LEARN to be critical thinkers, creative problem solvers, and independent and collaborative learners; EXPLORE the world by exposure to museum-related activities; ACHIEVE positive results through hard work and persistence; and ultimately DISCOVER their dreams and goals.

About Wish School

Under the theme of an Museum School, WISH students’ academic and social skills are strengthened through active learning. Students at each grade level participate in several museum excursions during the course of the school year and then they research, write, and analyze various points of view, solve problems and engage in collaborative decision making as they create museum exhibits across various curriculum content areas.

The staff's philosophy at Fred D. Wish Elementary School believes that children will maximize their academic potential in a warm, child-centered learning environment. We fully understand the importance of being caring and nurturing, as we educate our students and challenge their minds to achieve at the highest possible levels. We continually reach out to parents and the community, embracing their involvement in the education process.
